The Unthinkables: three things that changed

For 9/11, I decided I would post three big things that have changed in the U.S. since the event. These three things are not necessarily related to 9/11, they're just changes I've marked since that time. And one more thing: I've made these three things be changes that I never imagined would happen. I call them the unthinkables:

1. New Orleans is gone.

2. In the mainstream media, and in peoples homes, Americans debate the extent to which the U.S. has become a fascist country.

3. Due to the passing of the bankruptcy bill, indentured servitude has returned to the United States.

I'd like to invite you to share your three things, about the changes that have happened in your country. If you do so, please consider leaving me a comment so I and my readers can find your three things, too.

Joe G.:

I just blogged about my own three unthinkables.

The Cute Little Redheaded Grrlfriend:

You've really summed them all up - the biggest being that this country is taking on strong characterisitcs of fascism from the fear mongering to eroding the rights we so cherished being American. Creating this non existent boogeyman to justify the government's right to change our laws is so "old book" and therefore quite transparent. We can see through your phony tactics. You're in the wrong country. Get the hell out of here and go somewhere where the governments will welcome your kind - some dictatorship. The other aspect that has become pretty prominent is corporate greed and the disappearing middle class now that we have given corporations the right to eliminate competition rather than actually compete for consumer business giving them all kinds of tax breaks, outsourcing, eliminating pensions and cutting health care. It's scary, Pooter.
